Interested in an inspiring and fun way to help veterans in your community? Join our Tee It Up for the Troops – North Texas golf event! This local military charity golf event will be held at Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, TX. This event will honor all U.S. military service members, and will benefit those who have been wounded and injured in service to our nation.
Your participation in this fundraising event will help change the lives of many who selflessly serve(d) to protect our nation. Proceeds will support the REUNION national outreach program of Tee It Up for the Troops. Mental health professionals are touting the benefits of such reunions as key in helping combat veterans heal from the visible and invisible wounds of war including depression, isolation, and thoughts of suicide. Proceeds will also support several well-respected North Texas Veteran Service Organizations helping combat veterans to heal, transition, and thrive. The day will include an impactful opening ceremony, a great day of golf, a fabulous dinner, and an auction featuring some amazing items. Tee It Up for the Troops was founded in 2005 with the mission to honor, remember, respect, and support those who serve(d) in our nation's armed forces. We believe that support for America's heroes was never meant to end once they come home. For many, a whole new battle begins once they leave the service which is why we are proud to support active duty servicemembers and veterans of all eras. Tee It Up for the Troops events raise funds that support national and local veteran service organizations helping veterans through 6 key pillars: PTSD & traumatic brain injury support, suicide awareness & prevention, housing & homelessness, veteran employment, family support, sports rehabilitation.
A portion of the funds raised will also support the Tee It Up for the Troops REUNION outreach program. REUNION reunites combat veterans who were separated, often due to battlefield injuries bringing battle buddies and their caregivers together for a healing event that aims to help combat veterans transition to fulfilling civilian lives.
Tee It Up for the Troops is dedicated to maximum transparency and fiscal responsibility. We have received high-ratings from Charity Watchdogs such as Charity Navigator (100/100), Guidestar (Platinum rating), and Great-Nonprofits (Top-Rated). In 2024 Dataw Island Club will be celebrating our 19th annual fundraising golf event in recognition of our country’s veterans, the 8th year partnered with the Tee It Up for the Troops organization. Ours is a week-long commemoration which includes a variety of activities and events for all Dataw Island Club members and guests to enjoy, and every year gets better and better!
For many years Dataw Island Club has lovingly embraced the Tee It Up for the Troops tournaments, and we are profoundly grateful for the incredible volunteer efforts and gracious financial support of our residents and members. We are looking forward to another great Celebration of Veteran Service at Dataw Island in 2024!

Did you know that according to VA officials the overall rate of suicides among veterans has held steady at around 22 a day for roughly a decade, but researchers are seeing a troubling increase in the rate of younger veterans taking their lives? The change from battlefront to homefront can be particularly challenging for combat veterans, who often are working through war-related PTSD, depression, anxiety, and more. Our support for these American Heroes should never end once they come home from war. Corporate and individual supporters are needed to help more combat warriors overcome physical, mental, and emotional wounds incurred in the line of duty.
Proceeds from Interlachen Country Club's Tee It Up for the Troops event go to veterans support organizations that direct support towards critical areas of need including Suicide Prevention, Veteran Employment, PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation, Family and Caregiver Support, Housing and Homelessness, Golf and Sports rehabilitation as well as the Tee It Up for the Troops outreach program, REUNION, where combat veterans are reunited with their comrades from the battlefield.
